WOAC Bloom ProgramsSince 1970, the Women of the American Church have sponsored Bloom Where You’re Planted – How to Live in France. These seminars, designed to assist English-speaking newcomers to France, feature speakers and/or workshops on various topics from food and wine tasting to health care and general safety, need-to-know subjects, and just plain fun. Bloom helps with understanding cultural differences, creating a new life in Paris, and getting connected with friends and organizations throughout Paris and the surrounding areas. The fall Bloom Where You’re Planted program is a two-day seminar held each October. In 1998, Bloom While You Work was added to the Bloom repertoire. Bloom While You Work focused on cultural differences in both work and daily life, and on improving understanding of French culture. Bloom While You Work was a one-day program held in March and October each year. In March 2010, we are introducing an all-in-one Bloom Program designed to meet the needs of all - those who are working or not, as well as students and au pairs. The Bloom book, Bloom Where You’re Planted, How to Live in France, will be available on the Bloom day at a cost of 10€. This invaluable book has been updated and reprinted annually since 1970, and has become the “must have” book for all English-speaking expats in France. Even if you’re an old hand at living in France, you’re bound to learn new things from the Bloom Book. The Bloom Book is always available from the American Church in Paris reception desk, the Sunday Morning welcome table or by mail order, at the regular price of 20€. Attendance at any Bloom seminar will include:
